- Is strain counterstrain a painful technique?
Absolutely not. The technique is very gentle. The only requirement is that the patient be passive and relaxed. There are no contraindications. For more details, go to our 'How it works' section.
- How long does it take to release a spasm?
A split second. Reflexes are very fast. Actually, they are electrical currents. In the body they are called nerve impulses. When a person puts his finger in the fire, the heat sensors in the finger will send the information to the autonomic nerves system, which will send the signal (reflex) to the finger muscle to contract and pull the finger out of the fire. To be accurate, the speed of muscle reflex is 250 miles per second.
- Are there any side effects?
No. The patient often experiences a deep sense of relaxation because the technique relaxes the nervous system.
- What is the difference between you and a chiropractor?
I address the nervous system first, then the muscular system, and finally the joints. A chiropractor usually treats only the joints.
- Do you take insurance?
Yes, but only P.P.O., and not every company. I do offer a patient discount, based on a purchase of 5 or 10 sessions.
